We only use your personal data to deliver the matchmaking service
Major Points:
Opportunity.Exchange
is your networking filter: it is a set of rules that
our matching engine enforces on your behalf, to help you find the people and interactions that are only relevant to your interests.
Opportunity.Exchange
is not a social network, there are no friends or followers, so there is no data sharing between users, groups, organizations, and elsewhere.
Ultimately, you, as user, control what data you wish to make available to the service to serve your best interests.
The service works without any personal or personally identifiable data, and the search information that you enter are there to help you find valuable collaborations, not to identify you.
We don't care who you are, only you should.
The account information needs only one piece of private/personally identifiable data: any email address you have access to, and is there only for the purpose of communication with you.
To avoid any abuse or illegal activities, we implement a set of measures that discourage such behavior. These measures are at the service functionality level, not at the user account level.
We are compliant with the applicable laws, and when required by a court order, will work with any governmental legal entity that needs to enforce the law.
We provide no warranty about the information that other users submit to the service. We designed the serivice to incentivize truthfulness of all participants, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the content in the system.
This service is provided as-is. We will not be responsible for lost profits, revenues,or data, financial losses, or indirect, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
Service Processing Specifics:
Who are the entities involved?
You: are the owner of your personal data, and the controller of your service-specific information (interests, skills, preferences)
The group manager: is the person or organization who sets up a service instance where you are participating, and where you will discover other people based on your interests.
The group manager has no access to your private information. They only have access to aggregate and anonymized service participation information (interest tag cloud, anonymized matching statistics), with the purpose of helping them delivering a better service to you.
The sponsoring organization: this is the entity (a company, a non-profit, an academic organization or even a private person) paying for the service, and they as well have no access to your private information. They will only see aggregate and anonymized service participation data.
Opportunity.Exchange
: the entity owning and operating the service. The access to private data is strictly controlled. The code that makes up the Opportunity.Exchange
service has access to all your data, but no employee (or no person) can view, modify, or process your data.
Our service runs in the cloud, so the cloud provider's software has access to the data, but they have no reason to access it.
Page tracking analytics partners: We use Google Analytics to improve the usefulness and quality of this service. The page access trackers do not have access to any personal information.
Who is collecting the data? Opportunity.Exchange
acts as data collector and processor. Besides you personally and the Opportunity.Exchange
code, no other controller (e.g. group manager, service sponsoring organization) has access to your private data
What data is being collected? The primary data that goes into our service is your matching parameters: interest, passions, skills, opportunities, etc. The additional personal data is the email address associated with your account, which is there to allow you to be contacted when the service has something to deliver to you. You are in full control of what goes in.
Will my private data be shared with any third parties?. NEVER
How will the information be used?
The personal preferences data (interests, skills, etc) will be used to provide the matching functionality
The aggregated, anonymized preferences data (interests, skills, etc) can be used to improve the service by providing aggregate information to other participants, to the group/service managers, and to the sponsoring organization, for reporting and billing purposes.
The email contact information will be limited to
Sending you match notifications, when there is a match in the system, and the other party to the match wishes to initiate a connection
Sending you service notifications, only by the Opportunity.Exchange
itself.
We don't sell your email.
We don't have any relationship with advertisers, and we only get paid by the organizations that are sponsoring the service for you. If you choose to participate in the service, you implicitly trust this organization not to misuse any aggregate, anonymized data that they might get from sponsoring this service.
What rights do I have? We are complying with the strongest GDPR requirements:
You have the right to manage, update, and download your data
You have the right to be forgotten (delete your data).
How can the user raise a privacy-related issue or record complaint? Email us: gdpr@Opportunity.Exchange
